Our estate enjoys a favoured environment, where the mild climate and soil rich in schist and clay provide ideal conditions for growing our vines. Our plots lie on a vein of slate schist that extends as far as the Trélazé quarries. The clay-schist nature of our terroir encourages natural drainage, protecting our vines from drought. In fine weather, the schist captures the heat and redistributes it to the vines. The sunny slopes, bathed in the influences of the Loire, contribute to a favourable microclimate, allowing the grapes to ripen to perfection.
This exceptional natural setting is the secret of sustainable, environmentally-friendly viticulture, where each harvest is the expression of meticulous, high-quality work. We carefully cultivate a wide range of grape varieties, combining tradition and innovation to produce wines that reflect all the richness of our terroir. From the emblematic Chenin Blanc to the powerful Cabernet Franc, each cuvée is an invitation to discover the soul of our region, a true sensory journey into the heart of Anjou.
The aim of our biodynamic farming practices is to encourage and preserve biodiversity in our vineyards. The winemaker and his team use preparations based on plant matter (nettles), animal matter (horn dung) and mineral matter (quartz) to enrich the soil and strengthen the vines. The application of these preparations follows the natural cycle of the vine and is in harmony with the lunar calendar.
To further encourage biodiversity, we planted hedgerows and an orchard around our plots, creating an environment conducive to its development.
A balance between the land, the vines and the people.
Château Princé has a tasting room dedicated to discovering our wines. Designed to welcome both amateurs and connoisseurs, our tasting area offers an elegant and welcoming setting, perfect for discovering our vintages.
